Ahead of AS/COA's November 19 Monterrey conference, see what makes Nuevo Leon a hub for business and innovation.

The state of Nuevo Leon is home to one of Mexico’s most business-friendly climates, second only in competitiveness to the Federal District, per the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness’ Index. Part of this success comes from the state’s proximity to the U.S. border. For instance, in 2012, state exports amounted to $35 billion, or 11 percent of the country’s exports. Its capital, Monterrey, has the largest proportion of educational centers and institutions per capita in the country. Consequently, the state generates the second largest pool of professional and post-graduate degrees after the Federal District.

Ahead of the first Latin American Cities Conference in Monterrey, AS/COA Online breaks down the numbers on competitiveness in Nuevo Leon.
