Overview

Council of the Americas’ Energy Action Group will hold a public discussion on the COP21 climate change conference in Paris. Representatives from the Western Hemisphere will discuss the outcome of the negotiations, which seek to finalize a legally binding agreement that will commit countries to keep global temperatures from rising more than​ 2°C (3.6°F) above preindustrial levels. The panel will identify the implications of the conference for the hemisphere, including prospects for climate and renewable energy policy looking forward.
