Overview

Due to unforeseen technical problems we will not be able to provide a live webcast for the event. A recording will be available in the coming days.

Council of the Americas's Energy Action Group will hold a briefing by Ramón Espinasa, senior oil and gas specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), on their new extractive sector initiative.

The recently launched initiative aims to raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities in the sector, improve access to information, and build partnerships that enable the necessary conditions for responsible investment in the hemisphere's extractive industries.

Espinasa will provide an overview of the IDB’s work to promote investment in the sector. He will also offer his insights on the potential for extractive industries to drive broader sustainable economic development in Latin America and the Caribbean. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with the IDB on the key issues facing the sector and explore ways that your organization can help shape and launch this new initiative.
