Public Presentation by Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change
Join AS/COA for a discussion on the international climate policy debate and upcoming UN climate change conferences.
Overview
Note: This event is free of charge. Prior registration is required.
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges the world faces. At the November 2013 UN Climate Change Conference in Warsaw, governments took a step toward a new, universal climate change agreement. What was achieved in Warsaw? Where does the process of international climate policy stand? What additional concrete steps must be taken to prepare for the 2014 conference in Lima?
Join AS/COA for a presentation by Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate. She will discuss the ministerial meeting to be hosted by Venezuela in October of this year ahead of the next climate change Conference of the Parties (COP). She will also speak about the December 2014 COP in Peru, paving the way for the 2015 conference in Paris, where a new global climate agreement for the post-2020 period is to be adopted.
