On July 1, in Mexico's largest election in history, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) won 53 percent of the vote. His landslide victory will have a widespread impact on Mexico's political landscape as it gives him a clear mandate and a majority in both chambers to enact his agenda. Throughout his campaign, he promised to transform the country, pledging to eradicate corruption, reduce violence and insecurity, promote economic development and tackle inequality.
