Presidents of the Americas
Throughout the year, Americas Society and Council of the Americas (AS/COA) hosts heads of state from the Western Hemisphere as part of our Presidents of the Americas series. The series includes private meetings exclusive to AS/COA members as well as public forums that convene business leaders and leading policymakers to discuss the political, economic, and investment outlooks of their countries.
In recent years, we have hosted presidents from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay, among others.
For the second time, the Dominican president visited the Americas Society/Council of the Americas headquarters during UNGA.
Guyana's President Irfaan Ali returned for his third visit to AS/COA on the sidelines of the 79th UN General Assembly.
Paraguayan President Santiago Peña visited AS/COA for a private event with its corporate members on September 25.
In light of the 79th UN General Assembly, Americas Society/Council of the Americas hosted the President of Colombia Gustavo Petro.
