Overview

Americas Society (AS) is your home for exploring the culture and current affairs of Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada. Through its celebrated art and music programs, discussions of key social and political issues, and its publication Americas Quarterly, AS seeks to increase awareness of the Americas and the ties that bind our nations together. 

Since 1965, AS has hosted the region’s leading artists, musicians, thinkers, and changemakers at its iconic townhouse at 680 Park Avenue in New York City, while offering virtual and in-person programs to audiences all over the world. Art at Americas Society
AS’ exhibition space at 680 Park Avenue is the second longest-standing space in the United States dedicated to exhibiting and promoting art from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada. Since its inception, AS has produced both historical and contemporary exhibitions and publications, as well as public programs featuring outstanding artists, curators, critics, and scholars.
Music of the Americas
AS’ Music of the Americas series presents artists who are superb musicians and cultural ambassadors of the region’s myriad social and musical traditions. Through lush in-person concerts, bold commissioned works, innovative online performances, and more, AS creates a vibrant and unparalleled opportunity to hear distinctive and significant music from throughout the hemisphere.
Current Affairs
AS hosts discussions on the most critical social and political issues in Latin America and the Caribbean, featuring the region’s leading thinkers and changemakers. Our members gather to discuss books, films, policy debates, and other windows into the reality of an ever-changing region.
Americas Quarterly
Americas Quarterly (AQ) is an award-winning publication dedicated to politics, business, and culture in the Americas. Borrowing elements from The Economist and Foreign Affairs but with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean, AQ reaches more than 1 million people per year through its digital platforms, print magazine, and podcast.
