Americas Society/Council of the Americas Hosts 23rd Latin American Cities Conferences in Bogotá
Local and international panelists will join to discuss the country’s economic and political forecast.
New York, June 13, 2019— Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) will host another version of its Latin American Cities Conference series, “Colombia in the Eyes of Wall Street”. Taking place in Bogotá on June 19, at 8:00 a.m. in the Crowne Plaza Tequendama Bogotá, this will be AS/COA's twenty-third conference in Bogotá, in partnership with ANIF and Fedesarrollo. This event will be webcast live.
Local and International panelists will join to discuss the country’s economic and political forecast. Luis Fernando Mejía, Executive Director of Fedesarrollo, will give remarks on the International Environment and the Colombian Economy, while the former Minister of Finance Roberto Junguito will give a keynote presentation on the Fiscal Perspectives on Colombia 2019-2022.
Other panelists at the conference will include: Fernando Cepeda, Former Interior Minister and Political Analyst; Sergio Clavijo, Executive Director, ANIF; Richard Francis, Director of Sovereign Ratings, Fitch Ratings; Juan Camilo Granados, Commercial Manager, Bolsa de Valores de Colombia; Sergio Olarte, Head Economist, Scotiabank Colpatria; Luis Alberto Rodríguez, Deputy Minister of Finance; Kevin Whitaker, US Ambassador to Colombia; Randy Melzi, Vice President, Americas Society/Council of the Americas; and Guillermo Zubillaga, Senior Director and Head of the Venezuela Working Group, Americas Society/Council of the Americas.
Founded in 1965, AS/COA organizes more than 250 public policy programs per year in New York, Miami, Washington DC, and cities throughout Latin America. Events cover a wide range of topics, including economics, policy, trade, technology, security, education, social inclusion, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and energy. The conference “The Path to a Diversified Economy” is part of the organization’s Latin American Cities Conferences, a series of half-day events featuring top-level speakers in the public and private sectors across key cities in the region.
