AS/COA to Partner with Americas Venture Capital Conference in Miami – December 13 & 14

Americas Society/Council of the Americas is pleased to support the 2012 Americas Venture Capital Conference hosted by Florida International University’s Eugenio Pino and Family Global Entrepreneurship Center on December 13 and 14. The program will take place at the JW Marriott Hotel in Miami, FL.

Now in its third year, the Americas Venture Capital Conference is committed to the development of innovative firms throughout South Florida and Latin America, and more broadly, fostering economic opportunity and growth throughout the region.

This year’s conference, Data, Design & Dollars, will gather innovative entrepreneurs from across the Hemisphere, South Florida investors, and others with interests in Latin America to share insights and explore how world class entrepreneurs and investors approach opportunities. “By bringing together innovative entrepreneurs and investors from across our hemisphere, the 2012 Americas Venture Capital Conference will continue its catalytic role in fostering economic opportunity and growth throughout the region,” said Faquiry Diaz Cala, CEO of Tres Mares Group Inc. and Co-Chair of the 2012 AVCC.

Companies seeking investors are welcome to apply and you’ll find the criteria on the conference website. Competitive cash prizes are offered for both startups and later-stage companies, and the conference boasts a distinct mentoring approach for coaching presenting companies. Successful firms such as Caracas-based OpenEnglish and Miami-based PassTheNotes have received funding in past conferences. Deadline: September 14
