AS/COA's Susan Segal among International Leaders to Join Clinton Foundation's "Future of the Americas"
AS/COA's president and CEO will join former President Bill Clinton and a group of high-level participants to discuss the future of the hemisphere.
New York, December 10, 2014—International leaders from business, government, and civil society will participate in the Clinton Foundation’s “Future of the Americas” convening on Friday, December 11 in Miami, Florida. AS/COA President and CEO Susan Segal will join former President Bill Clinton and a group of over 60 high-level participants from the private and public sectors across Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada, and the United States to discuss the future of the hemisphere. Conversations will focus on topics such as investments, energy, infrastructure, small- and medium-sized enterprises, and education.
In 1994, then-President Bill Clinton hosted the first Summit of the Americas, a meeting of leaders from 34 countries in the Western Hemisphere who discussed an action plan to promote economic integration and shared prosperity. The one-time “Future of the Americas” event, taking place at the University of Miami, will precede the official Summit of the Americas in April 2015.
Participants at the “Future of the Americas” include President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos, Vice President of Panama Isabel de Saint Malo de Alvarado, Prime Minister of Aruba Michiel Godfried, as well as top executives at Cisco Systems, Los Grobo, Libra Group, Organización Ardila Lülle, Bridas Energy, Grupo Aval, The Cisneros Group of Companies, Estefan Enterprises; Fanjul Corp. and Florida Crystals Corporation, Grupo Omnilife, Intercorp, and McLarty Associates, among others.
