Christie says U.S. should stress strong ties with Canada and Mexico
During COA’s Washington Conference, Governor Chris Christie called for a stronger relationship between the U.S. and its neighbors, which will enhance their global clout.

Christie, whose comments on foreign policy came as he eyes a run for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, said the U.S., Canada, and Mexico share common values, including a commitment to democracy, and too often the lack of conflict among the three countries leads to those relations being placed on the backburner.
"Spend time, develop those relationships, make them stronger," Christie said at the 45th annual Washington Conference on the Americas, held at the U.S. State Department. "It will be a lot easier to make that phone call if its the sixth phone call rather than the first one."
For example, the energy boom in North America could lead the three nations to become an exporter to the rest of the world. They could be exporting their values in addition to their energy, Christie said....
