2012 Latin American Cities Conferences: Lima - Peru: Modernization of the State through Social Dialogue

AS/COA's annual Lima conference on November 9 will bring together a group of leading public and private sector officials who will analyze how Peru is facing challenges related to the modernization of the state while meeting social needs. 

New York, November 5, 2012 – Americas Society and Council of the Americas will host their annual Lima conference, “Peru: Modernization of the State through Social Dialogue,” presented in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, on Friday, November 9, 2012, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (webcast available). Bringing together a group of leading public and private sector officials, this conference will analyze how Peru is facing challenges related to the modernization of the state while meeting social needs. Among other topics, panelists will discuss ways to offer economic opportunity to marginalized populations, the responsibilities and limits of the government in that process, and the private sector’s role in modernizing the state.
