Attackers invaded the centers of power in Brasília, asking for an intervention.

On January 8, thousands of supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro flocked to the center of government in Brazil's capital and invaded Congress, the Supreme Court and the seat of the presidency, the Planalto palace. Police forces were able to regain control of the buildings after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva decreed federal intervention over the security of the capital.
