To close AS/COA's São Paulo conference, Pernambuco Governor Eduardo Campos gave the keynote speech. Campos is a presidential pre-candidate ahead of the October 5 elections, and spoke about his vision for the country. He discussed a need for a new political and social pact, and the necessity of restoring confidence in the country.

He also identified areas of opportunity for the country's next leader, including increasing productivity and competitiveness and improving quality of life.

Campos also said that the key way to fight inequality is to invest in education.
