Using Science and Technology to Foment Development

Latin American Thought blog takes a look at recent efforts by Colombia’s national technology, science, and innovation agency, known as Colciencias, to help foment innovation across the country through an expansion of science and technology learning. The approach, which hopes to focus on Colombia’s more remote and under-developed regions, aims to both train more scientists and technology workers, but also create the research opportunities necessary to prevent a loss of human capital.
