COA Director of Energy Christian Gómez explains some of the main challenges to oil, gas, and renewable energy development in Brazil.
Despite protests in the country’s capital against education and energy reforms, Mexico’s Congress approved the former and plans to debate the latter.
This Energy Action Group report issues recommendations to improve competitiveness in Brazil's energy sector.
On August 12, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced a major energy reform. COA Director of Energy Christian Gómez explores reactions and what lies ahead.
The first Brazilian oil concessions in five years took place on May 14 and 15, while Congress passed a law to upgrade the country’s ports.
El director de energía de COA, Christian Gómez indica que el sector afronta una serie de desafíos y oportunidades en la región.
Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, and Nicaragua recently began a push to build solar parks in a bid to meet the region’s growing demand for electricity.
In World Politics Review, AS/COA's Eric Farnsworth writes that Latin American energy demand may clash with environmental interests as the region's middle class continues to grow.
While large petroleum reserves hold promise, challenges frustrate production goals and limit exports.
In a country with one of the world’s highest energy costs, Brazilian consumers and industries could see a drop in electricity prices that may bring both political and economic returns.
