Energy Action Group
Americas Society/Council of the Americas Energy Action Group (EAG) brings together the public and private sectors to develop strategic energy policies for the Americas. The EAG hosts forums in cities across the Americas and publishes working papers and recommendations on key energy and climate topics.

In testimony before U.S. Congress, COA Vice President Eric Farnsworth says many countries in the Latin America lack the investment needed to maximize exploration, production, and distribution of their natural resources. Energy cooperation with Latin American countries should be part of the U.S. strategic agenda for the region.
Latin American and Caribbean nations must realize that direct investment is the lifeblood of development, and that capital will always go where risk-adjusted rewards are believed to be greatest.
Political and social leaders have to look beyond political differences and focus on preparing their people to compete in a global economy.
