Book Launch of Told and Untold: The Photo Stories of Kati Horna in the Illustrated Press

Admission is free. A 20 percent discount will be given to Americas Society members, and a 10 percent discount to non-members on all book sales the evening of the event.

Moderated by Gabriela Rangel (director and chief curator of Visual Arts at Americas Society), authors Christina L. De León, Michel Otayek, and Maria Antonella Pelizzari will present the fully-illustrated hardcover catalogue Told and Untold: The Photo Stories of Kati Horna in the Illustrated Press.

The catalogue, edited by Gabriela Rangel and published in association with Americas Society’s 2016 exhibition dedicated to Kati Horna (b. 1912 Budapest – d. 2000 Mexico City), features photographs—some never before seen—displayed alongside the newspapers and magazines in which they circulated. This publication offers a comprehensive overview of Horna’s diverse practice, including her photographs, contact sheets, montaged cuttings, and personal albums.
