Join Council of the Americas for a BRAVO Leadership Conversation with Julio Frenk, president of the University of Miami and Susan Segal, president and CEO of AS/COA.
The former health minister of Mexico and former dean of Harvard University’s School of Public Health will share his perspectives on the lessons learned of the pandemic for Latin America and the opportunities that it presents for the region as an accelerator of change. Dr. Frenk will also share his approach in leading the University of Miami through the COVID-19 pandemic, informed by his expertise in public health and a deep belief in today’s youth.
As we look forward to 2021, Dr. Frenk will discuss the university’s focus on not only going back to normal, but building a better normal as we recover from a global crisis, and how this is applicable for all sectors across society. Leading a student body of almost 18,000 students, he will share leadership advice for the new generations and the impact the experience of living through a pandemic will have on their future.
This panel is part of the 2020 COA Symposium and BRAVO Virtual Series: Leadership and Transformation in Times of Crisis. The series addresses the unprecedented challenges brought globally and regionally by the pandemic, as well as the various responses across sectors and stakeholders in order to reshape the post COVID-19 world.
