BRAVO Leadership Conversation with Salesforce's Gavin Patterson and COA Symposium
COA hosted industry leaders in a two-part virtual conference to discuss the role of business in cross-regional growth and recovery and the future of work in Latin America.
Overview
Session 1 (2:00–2:45 pm ET)
BRAVO Leadership Conversation: Gavin Patterson, President & Chief Revenue Officer, Salesforce
Patterson will participate in a dynamic conversation with AS/COA’s President and CEO, Susan L. Segal, to discuss the role of business in society, as well as Salesforce’s view on the private sector’s responsibility to benefit all stakeholders to ensure development and recovery as the world overcomes pandemic challenges.
Patterson will also share Salesforce’s perspective on what’s needed in Latin America to ensure a digitally trained workforce to tackle the region’s most important challenges via innovative approaches.
Session 2 (2:45–4:00 pm ET)
COA Symposium Panel: The Future of Work – Bridging the Skills Gap in Latin America
The second session of the COA Symposium Conference will gather global leaders and skills development experts to discuss the retraining of the workforce in Latin America to advance development and opportunities in the region.
Speakers:
- Tish Mendoza, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, The AES Corporation
- Nicole Amaral, Latin America Skills Transformation Lead, Coursera
- Fernando Jaramillo, VP, People, Softtek
- Tricia Maria Sá Pacheco de Oliveira, Partner, Trench, Rossi e Watanabe Advogados
- Eduardo Marchiori, CEO, Mercer Brasil (moderator)
Experts predict that by 2023, 50 percent of digital transformation efforts in Latin America could fail due to lack of investment in building teams with the right skills. In this context, what are the necessary steps to retrain the workforce in Latin America, and what are the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities for companies in this process?
These conversations are part of our 2021 COA Symposium and BRAVO Virtual Series: The Acceleration of Business & Transformation. Building upon its 26-year tradition, Council of the Americas will continue to provide access to leadership and promote collaboration among industry and social leaders, at a time when it’s more necessary than ever.
