Overview

Brazil is an emerging global energy superpower. The upcoming state visit of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff to Washington, recent visits to Brazil by U.S. cabinet officials, and the Strategic Energy Dialogue launched during President Barack Obama’s visit to Brazil in March 2011 together offer the opportunity to highlight and support the emerging bilateral energy partnership between Brazil and the United States.

On September 4, Council of the Americas’ Energy Action Group (EAG) will release a report entitled Brazil’s Energy Agenda: The Way Forward, the latest in our series of hemispheric energy issues. Based on high-level meetings in Brazil, speakers will discuss the most relevant oil and gas, power generation, and renewable energy action items facing the country, and what needs to occur in order to develop the bilateral energy relationship to its full potential. Please join us for what promises to be a timely and informative discussion of energy issues in Brazil.
