Briefing with General Laura J. Richardson, U.S. Southern Command

Four-star Army General Laura J. Richardson met with Latin American business leaders at Council of the Americas' Miami office to hear their perspectives on doing business in the region. General Richardson also addressed the U.S. Southern Command's (SOUTHCOM) priorities, which includes initiatives to enhance regional security and stability. 

SOUTHCOM is a joint military command in the U.S. Department of Defense that provides contingency planning, operations, and security cooperation in Central America, South America and the Caribbean. SOUTHCOM supports U.S. national security objectives to ensure the Western Hemisphere is secure, free, and prosperous.
