Discussion: Author Deborah L. Rhode on What Women Want
Overview
The AS/COA Women’s Hemispheric Network, in partnership with Stanford New York Alumni, will host a discussion with Professor Deborah L. Rhode, author of What Women Want: An Agenda for the Women’s Movement.
What are the major obstacles the women’s movement confronts? What are its key priorities and what strategies might advance them? Why, despite four decades of equal employment legislation, is women's workplace status so far from equal? Come and join the exciting conversation with Professor Rhode about these questions, recent gender bias claims in the courts, and her views on how women can and should act on what they want.
Deborah L. Rhode is the Ernest W. McFarland Professor of Law, the director of the Center on the Legal Profession, and the director of the Program in Law and Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford University. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and vice chair of the board of Legal Momentum (formerly the NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund).
Registration fee: This event is complimentary for AS, COA, YPA and WHN members.
Prior registration is required.
Copies of the book will be available for sale. The program will be followed by a book signing.
