The End of Diplomacy? The Challenges of Multilateralism
Jorge Heine, co-editor of The Oxford Handbook of Modern Diplomacy, will provide insight and analysis of the latest developments in the field.
Overview
The demands and evolution of globalization have transformed diplomacy in the past 30 years. At a moment where diplomatic practices and the pressures imposed on diplomats are radically changing and the actors and channels of communication are becoming more diffuse, there is a need to understand the various forces that affect interstate relations. What will these changes bring to geopolitical interests, multilateral diplomacy, and the host of issues—old and new—on the global agenda: food security, human rights, and the economy?
Join Jorge Heine, co-editor of The Oxford Handbook of Modern Diplomacy and Distinguished Fellow at Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), along with other notable experts and practitioners that will provide insight and analysis of the latest developments in the field.
