Overview

No one doubts Latin America’s potential in areas of an energy transition, like the development of green hydrogen and lithium. But while some projects are moving forward, the region is still punching below its weight in terms of attracting investment.

Where are the areas of greatest opportunity for the energy transition? What can we expect from politics in Chile, Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil? What is the role of state-run companies? This in-person event at AS/COA's headquarters will launch Americas Quarterly's latest special report on Latin America's economic prospects despite the headwinds.

Online registration is now closed.

Speakers:

  • Mauricio Cárdenas, Professor of Professional Practice in Global Leadership, Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs; Director, MPA in Global Leadership; Global Senior Research Fellow at Columbia’s Center on Global Energy Policy; and former Minister of Finance and of Energy, Colombia
