Overview
The U.S.-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement that entered into force on July 1 has a series of new labor-related provisions that will go into effect over the next several years. Among the U.S. government agencies charged with monitoring the implementation of these provisions is the Department of Labor.
Council of the Americas' Trade Advisory Group held a private discussion with Martha Newton, deputy under secretary of labor for international affairs at the Department of Labor, on their role in implementing the new USMCA.
