How can we foster greater dialogue between civil society, government, and the private sector over natural resource extraction in the hemisphere? Americas Quarterly and Americas Society/Council of the Americas June 5 panel discussion focused on the issue of community relations and extractive investments and activities. The panel brought together a group of academic, policy, and business experts to discuss efforts and new developments to improve the framework for the process and practice of community consultation (consulta previa) in cases of natural resource investment.
