En Casa: Marcelo Moguilevsky
Facebook
This talented woodwinds player sent us his solo version of Atahualpa Yupanki's "Piedra y camino".
Moguilevsky writes: this song takes me to my own loneliness, to an intimate state with which I identify. To something in my musical self that is not based on virtuosity but rather on a sensation of being outdoors like a lonely traveler. At the same time, I feel a deep sense of love in each line, with all its paradoxes and complex feelings.

Recuerdos: Los Cenzontles
Facebook
The amazing Los Cenzontles, brainchild of Eugene Rodriguez, was on our stage ten years and ten days ago. Los cenzontles is a band, a nonprofit, a music academy, and a hub for Latino artists working together to empower the Mexican American community in Northern California and promote its culture. These are just a few of the songs they played during that concert (we apologize to Eugene because he is not in the camera shot until the last piece!) Keep watching until the end for a truly beautiful rendition of a lovely cardenche song.
