About the artist:
Ana Tiscornia was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1951 and has resided in New York since 1991. She is Emeritus Professor, State University of New York, College at Old Westbury. Her work has been shown internationally in various solo shows, including Left, Right and Center at Josee Bienvenu Gallery, New York 2020; Ana Tiscornia at OMI, Ghent, New York 2018, Colateral o Premeditado, Galeria Nora Fisch, Buenos Aires, Argentina 2017, Des - habitaciones, Galería del Paseo, Lima, Perú 2015; Obra Reciente, Galería Nora Fisch, Buenos Aires, Argentina 2013; El estado de las cosas, Museo Gurvich, Montevideo, Uruguay, 2013; and Paradoxes, Josee Bienvenu Gallery, Nueva York, USA, 2013. Tiscornia writes for several specialized art publications and is the author of the book, “Vicissitudes of the Visual Imaginary: Between Utopia and Fragmented Identity,” published by White Wine Press in collaboration with Distrito Cuatro.
