Overview

Join us live on Instagram from your cell phone, or watch here and on YouTube after, for a series of remote visits to artists' studios to bring Americas Society's Visual Arts public programs to your home. Every Wednesday and Friday this month, contemporary artists will dialogue with our Visual Arts department about their work and practice.

About the artist:

Iñaki Bonillas (b. 1981, lives and works in Mexico City) is a conceptual artist whose work traces family and social histories through photography, video, installation, site-specific installations, and artist books. In his deeply researched exhibition projects, from interventions inside Casa Luis Barragán to collaborations with bookbinders, he pushes beyond the two-dimensional to plumb private and collective memory. His work integrates photography in a creative process wherein reality, fiction, and the fluctuating worlds of word and image all coexist. Bonillas’s work has been exhibited at major institutions and art fairs in Mexico, the United States, and Europe.
