Overview

Council of the Americas' Trade Advisory Group held a briefing on the protocol signed by the governments of Brazil and the United States updating the bilateral Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation (ATEC).

Assistant Secretary for Global Markets Ian Steff and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for the Western Hemisphere Ian Saunders provided insights on the agreement. It was followed by a discussion on the political and economic importance of the protocol for Brazil and its investors, with Mauá Capital CEO and former Deputy Governor of the Brazilian Central Bank Luiz Fernando Figueredo and Arko Advice Director of Intelligence Thiago de Aragão.
