Overview

On September 11 and 12, 2013, the governments of the United States and Colombia will participate in the U.S.-Colombia Joint Commission Meeting on Science and Technology Cooperation in association with the U.S.-Colombia High Level Partnership Dialogue at the U.S. Department of State. 

On September 12, the U.S. Department of State, the Colombian Embassy in Washington, and the Council of the Americas will host an open forum on innovation. Government representatives and academic leaders will discuss the key roles of university research and R&D commercialization in building knowledge-based economies. 

The panel will focus on the roles of academic institutions, governments, and industry in synergistically promoting innovation, collaboration, and R&D commercialization. The event aims to provide an open discussion on policy recommendations to enhance innovative capacity and collaboration between the United States and Colombia.
