Join Young Professionals of the Americas for an in-person conversation featuring Aitor Jauregui, head of Latin America at BlackRock. In conversation with his BlackRock colleague and YPA Steering Committee member Michael Seitz, Jauregui will discuss market trends in the region, in addition to his leadership insights and career journey. 

Following the event, there will be a networking and drinks reception will be held.

Aitor Jauregui, managing director, is head of Latin America for BlackRock, responsible for all of the firm’s activities in the region. He chairs the Latin America Executive Committee and Latin America Operating Committee. Mr. Jauregui is also a member of BlackRock’s Global Operating Committee. 

Mr. Jauregui's service with BlackRock dates back to 2011. Prior to his current role, he was the Country Manager of Iberia (Spain, Portugal and Andorra) and a member of the EMEA Executive Committee. Mr. Jauregui has held various leadership roles in Spain, including head of Business Activity for the Iberia region, and represented Iberia on the Latin America and Iberia Executive Committee until 2019, at which time Iberia was integrated into the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. Aitor has extensive working experience covering asset management, investment banking and private banking. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Jauregui worked at EuroMTS, a leading fixed income electronic trading platform, as head of Trading and was a member of the Executive Committee, living both in Spain and London. He started his professional career in 2002 as an investment manager at Safei Wealth Management. 

Mr. Jauregui earned an executive MBA from IESE Business School and an undergraduate degree in law and business administration with a minor in economics from the University of Deusto.

Michael Seitz is a member of BlackRock’s Investment Stewardship group. At BlackRock, his work involves global communications and policy surrounding key corporate governance issues at major public companies. Mr. Seitz is a rising leader and dedicated volunteer also involved with the Corporate Leadership Board of SuitUp, an education-focused nonprofit, and JUST Capital’s JUSTGen professional network. Mr. Seitz graduated with honors from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University, where he remains engaged as the co-chair of the Alumni Association’s Finance Council.
