YPA Cafecito: Juan Navarro-Staicos on Argentina's Economic Context
The economist and portfolio manager at Lord Abbett will discuss the current economic situation in Argentina in a presidential election year.
Overview
This event is open to the public; free for members and $10 for non-members. Please register in advance.
Juan Navarro-Staicos is an economist and portfolio manager at Lord Abbett, where he manages the firm’s sovereign debt investments in Latin America, as well as a Steering Committee member of Young Professionals of the Americas (YPA). Argentina is a key focus area for his firm. Last year the country experienced significant macroeconomic volatility, and this year it hosts critical elections on October 27.
Join YPA for a cafecito in which Juan will discuss the current economic and political situation in Argentina, providing some context for the crisis the country faced in 2018, as well as the outlook for South America's second largest economy going forward. On the one hand, President Mauricio Macri addressed some key institutional and legal constraints when he came to power. However, much remains to be done to address critical issues, namely around the economy.
This event part of YPA's Cafecito Series, which brings prominent leaders from a wide range of fields together with YPA members in a small, intimate setting.
