Andrés Varas
Andrés Varas is executive director of the APEC CEO Summit Chile 2019, the most influential meeting of business and government in the Asia Pacific, which provides opportunities for CEOs and top business executives to engage in dialogue with heads of government and forge connections with business and thought leaders from around the world. Previously, Varas was CEO of Bupa Chile (formerly Cruz Blanca Salud) for 10 years, one of the leading companies in the health care industry in Chile and Peru, with more than $1 billion in revenues and 8,000 employees. He also worked for six years at Las Americas AFI as investment director of private equity and infrastructure funds, and prior to that, he worked for Citigroup, McKinsey, and Grupo Security. Varas holds a bachelor's in business administration and a master's in economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He also holds a master's in finance from London Business School.
