César Peñaranda is the executive director of the Institute for the Economy and Business Development at the Chamber of Commerce in Lima. Throughout his career in the financial sector of Peru, he has been vice president at the Banco de Comercio, vice president of the Insitituto Libertad y Democracia, member of the board and executive committee of the Chamber of Commerce in Lima, and senior advisor and chief of staff at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Mr. Peñaranda has also been a consultant to the governments of Bolivia and Honduras. Earlier in his career, he was the head of Industrial Development for the Comunidad Andina from 1972 to 1982 and led the Ecomonic Research Department at the Banco Central de Reserva del Peru from 1967 to 1972. Since 1982, Mr. Peñaranda has served as a consultant to several international organizations including the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations, La Comisión Económica para América Latina, the Latin American Integration Association, and CAF of which he was director in 1992. He earned his Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University.

César Peñaranda es director ejecutivo del Instituto de Economía y Desarrollo Empresarial de la Cámara de Comercio de Lima. A lo largo de su carrera en el sector financiero peruano, ha sido vicepresidente del Banco de Comercio, vicepresidente del Instituto Libertad y Democracia, miembro del consejo directivo y del comité ejecutivo de la Cámara de Comercio de Lima, y asesor principal y jefe de asesores del Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas. Sr. Peñaranda también ha sido consultor de los gobiernos de Bolivia y Honduras. Anteriormente, era jefe del Departamento de Desarrollo Industrial de la Comunidad Andina de 1972 a 1982 y jefe del Departamento de Investigaciones Económicas del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú de 1967 a 1972. Empezando en 1982, el Sr. Peñaranda se ha desempeñado como consultor en varias organizaciones internacionales, incluyendo el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, las Naciones Unidas, La Comisión Económica para América Latina, la Asociación Latinoamericana de Integración, y la CAF; de la cual fue director en 1992. Obtuvo su Maestría y Doctorado en Economía de Cornell University.
