Charlie Himmelberg
Charlie Himmelberg is global head of Credit and Mortgage Strategy Research for Goldman Sachs in New York. Before joining Goldman Sachs, he held research and academic positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 2001 to 2005, Columbia University from 1995 to 2003, New York University from 1990 to 1995, and the University of Chicago from 1992 to 1993, publishing widely on macroeconomics and financial markets. Himmelberg has previously served as consultant to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the World Bank, and currently serves on the Financial Advisory Roundtable at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He received his Bachelor’s degree in math and economics from the University of Kansas and his PhD in economics from Northwestern University.
