Chung-Wha Hong
Chung-Wha Hong serves as the executive director of The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), an umbrella advocacy organization made up of approximately 200 immigrant organizations throughout New York State. The NYIC has become a leading advocacy voice for the diverse immigrant communities in New York state and has built political power and fostered strong leadership in immigrant communities through issue campaigns, capacity building, leadership development, and civic participation programs. Prior to joining the NYIC in 2001, Hong was the executive director of the National Korean American Service & Education Consortium and also served as community liaison at the Committee of Interns & Residents. She has worked with immigrant communities for over 20 years and has collaborated with the worked on issues of health care, labor, and immigrant and civil rights issues.
