Cristina Pineda
Cristina Pineda is co-founder of Pineda-Covalin, a Mexican fashion house with presence across the Western Hemisphere, Europe, and Asia. She promotes Mexican art and culture through textile design, which has brought Pineda international recognition and has become the hallmark of her brand. Recently, she created the character Xico to be a national mascot and represent Mexico in cities around the world. Through a collaboration with the Réunion des Musées Nationaux in Paris, Pineda is producing a unique collection centered on the origins of civilization. Among diverse philanthropic activities, she advises Descubriendo America Latina, whose mission is to improve the livelihood of marginalized people across Latin America by sharing the culture, art, and creativity from the region with audiences in Europe. Pineda holds a Bacherlor’s degree in Textile Design from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master’s degree in Art History from the Universidad Anahuac.
