Diego Pardow
Prior to his appointment as Minister of Energy he served as Head of the Monitoring Unit of the Presidency of the Government of President Gabriel Boric Font. Previously, Pardow was a professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Chile. He was executive president of the Espacio Público study center between October 2019 and June 2021. His main area of research is the Economic Analysis of Law, especially in matters of institutional design, judicial reasoning, and economic and energy regulation. Between 2017 and 2018 he received the Edgardo Buscaglia award for the best empirical research by the Latin American and Caribbean Association of Law and Economics (ALACDE). Pardow has also been a consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank on matters of infrastructure regulation. He is a lawyer from the University of Chile and holds a Master's and JD from the University of California, Berkeley.
Fue profesor de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Chile y hasta su nombramiento como ministro de Energía, se desempeñaba como Jefe de la Unidad de Seguimiento de Presidencia del Gobierno del Presidente Gabriel Boric Font. Fue presidente ejecutivo del centro de estudios Espacio Público entre octubre de 2019 y junio de 2021. Su principal área de investigación es el Análisis Económico del Derecho, especialmente en temas de diseño institucional, razonamiento judicial y regulación económica y energética. Durante los años 2017 y 2018 recibió el premio Edgardo Buscaglia a la mejor investigación empírica por la Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Derecho y Economía (ALACDE). También ha sido consultor del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo en materias de regulación de infraestructura. Abogado de la Universidad de Chile. Magister y Doctor en Derecho por la University of California, Berkeley.
