Diego Pereira-Garmendia

Diego W. Pereira is J.P. Morgan’s Chief Economist for South America (ex-Brazil). Diego joined J.P. Morgan in 2011, covering Southern Cone macroeconomics, later moved to the EM Strategy group focusing on Latin America FX strategy in 2013. In 2016, his role expanded after he was appointed Chief Economist for Southern Cone. A native of Uruguay, he holds a Ph.D. and MSc in Economics from UPF, Spain, focused on macro-finance and EMs, and a B.A. in Economics from UDELAR (Uruguay).
