Duncan Caird
Duncan Caird is the head of Infrastructure, Energy & Export Finance Americas at HSBC, and managing director of IRG HSBC New York. Caird joined HSBC in 2006 and led the Americas team in advisory, project, and export financing strategy for key clients with a focus on cross-border transactions. Caird has financed a wide range of projects and businesses across all sectors: infrastructure and concession financing; transport, such as ports, roads, bridges, and airports; the oil and gas sector; and mining in copper, iron, and gold. He also has extensive experience in the power sector with thermal and renewable energy as well as in transmission and distribution. Previously, he was based in London, focused on the European market with senior roles at BofA, BOTM, Westpac and CIT and expertise in financial advisory, investing and underwriting, acquisition finance, asset finance, and project or structured financings. Caird has a bachelor's of law from Victoria University, New Zealand, and was admitted to the High Court of New Zealand as barrister and solicitor.
