Federico Gomez Schumacher is the general manager for Latin America. In this role, he is responsible for the growth of the PayPal business in the region working to promote the advancement of financial inclusion and digital payments. During his tenure, he has managed the team launching multiple new products as well as key partnerships. Schumacher joined PayPal in 2010 as the first General Manager for Mexico with the task to define and execute the strategy to launch domestic operations in the country. He then assumed regional responsibility for all Spanish-speaking countries in LATAM and finally the entire region including Brazil. His focus is to continue delivering affordable, convenient and secure solutions to PayPal consumers in LATAM. Schumacher has over 20 years of experience in the digital payment industry and e-commerce. Prior to joining PayPal, he worked for G&D as VP of sales for Northern LATAM. He started his career with American Express with his last role as director of credit and small business for the Italian market based in Rome. Before that he was director of global strategy in New York. He has also been a mentor with entrepreneurs from 500 Startups, Victoria147 and Wayra. He has a B.S. in industrial engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. He serves on the board of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley.
