Gabriela Zapata
Financial Inclusion Specialist
Gabriela Zapata is a strategic advisor on financial inclusion and financial health in Latin America to private and public institutions, including many fintech companies. She currently works on projects with BFA Global, CGAP, the MetLife Foundation, and the office of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands who is the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA). Zapata was a senior programs officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and director of the promotion of financial organizations within the Secretariat of Agriculture of Mexico. She earned her master’s degree from Cornell University.
