Hélio Magalhães
Hélio Magalhães was named Citi country officer of Brazil in July 2012. Before re-joining Citi Brazil, Magalhães worked at American Express for 11 years as executive vice president of Global Networks Services for the Americas and as president in Brasil and Mexico. He first joined Citi between 1984 and 2001, during which time he occupied various positions, such as head of O&T and head of Marketing and Products for the Consumer Bank in Brasil, head of Global O&T for the Private Bank, and regional head of Marketing and Products for the Consumer Bank in Latin America. Magalhães is president of the board of the American Chamber of Commerce-Brazil (Amcham), and is on the boards of the US-Brazil Business Council, Elavon Brazil, and of the Brazilian Banking Association (Febraban). He graduated in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from George Washington University and has a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro.
