Ivan Duque joined the Colombian Senate in 2014 as a member of the Democratic Center Party. Previously, he was a senior advisor for Colombia at the Inter-American Development Bank and worked in Colombia's Finance and Public Credit Ministry. He holds a law degree from the University of Sergio Arboleda and a master’s in international economic law from American University, as well as a master’s in public administration from Georgetown University.
