João Miranda has been the chief executive officer of Votorantim S.A. since 2014 and served as its chief financial officer and chief investor relations officer from 2009 to 2013. Mr. Miranda is currently the chairperson of Votorantim Cimentos Board of Directors, where he has been serving since 2013, a member of the board of Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio, and Votorantim Energia. Prior to Votorantim, he was the executive vice-president of Banco Citibank S.A. in Brazil from 2006 until 2009. Mr. Miranda served as CEO of Citibank N.A. Chile from 2004 to 2006, and was the head of Corporate Bank of Citibank in Brazil from 1998 until 2004. He is an economist graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro and attended the Master of Science in the Administration program at COPPEAD - Instituto de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Administração of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, where he also completed an extension course at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
