Joe Kogan
Joe Kogan is head of Latin American Strategy at Scotiabank in New York. He advises institutional investors on fixed income investments in both sovereigns and corporates across Latin America and the Caribbean. From 2004 to 2009, Kogan was a senior strategist for emerging markets at Barclays Capital and at Lehman Brothers. Previously, he was a professor at Universidad Católica in Santiago, Chile. Kogan received a Ph.D. in business economics and an M.A. in economics from Harvard University, and a B.A. in economics and mathematics from Princeton University. His dissertation at Harvard won the 2002 prize for best dissertation in international business awarded by the Stockholm School of Economics. His research has appeared in top academic journals such as The Review of Economics and Statistics and Journal of International Business Studies.
