Joel Schwartz
Joel Schwartz is senior vice president and general manager, Global New Business Development at EMC Corporation where he is responsible for the overall strategic direction of EMC’s New Business activities around the world. In his global role, he initiated EMC’s R&D efforts in Brazil, Russia, India, China, Singapore, and Mexico as well as numerous investments/acquisitions in Israeli companies and joint ventures in China. Mr. Schwartz joined EMC in 1999 from Data General Corporation where he served as the senior vice president and general manager of the CLARiiON Division as well as vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing. He is a member of the Boards of Directors of LifeImage and The Finca Vigia Foundation as well as a trustee of Mass Ventures. Mr. Schwartz is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Brandeis International Business School, and recently conceived, developed and is a part-time lecturer for a graduate course in Israeli Entrepreneurship at Worcester Polytech Institute. He holds a BSEE and MSEE from Case Western Reserve University and also attended the Executive Management Program at Stanford University.
