John McIntire
John McIntire is an early-stage investor and advisor focusing primarily on tech-enabled companies straddling the U.S. and Latin America. As a director working alongside management teams, he has helped to raise over $200 million in venture capital for businesses in the edtech and software sectors.
John has been dedicated to several non-profit educational and policy initiatives related to his native Cuba during the last 20 years. He is a co-founder and the chairman of the Cuba Emprende Foundation, which supports the largest entrepreneur training program on the island. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Cuba Study Group.
John is a director of the Americas Society, for which he chairs the audit committee, a director of the Tinker Foundation, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and an advisor to Endeavor Miami.
John had a 25-year career as an international investment banker in New York and London, during which he focused on equity and debt capital markets. He retired in 2004 as a partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co, where he spent 12 years focused on Latin America, including being Goldman’s CEO for that region. Prior to Goldman, he worked at Credit Suisse First Boston and the Chase Manhattan Bank.
He graduated from Princeton University (1979) with an A.B. in Economics.
